Coachella Doc. To Hit Theaters

Indie rockers with full hearts and empty pockets rejoice! If you've been lacking the $180 to buy tickets, the melanin required to withstand sunlight or the crucial social coping mechanisms needed to attend the yearly Coachella Music Festival, you can now catch highlights from the past six years on a soon to be released two-hour feature film unimaginatively titled Coachella. The film makes its debut in Los Angeles on January 19th at the Orpheum Theatre and then opens nationally (you know, at all five art house theaters in the US) on January 24. This gives Coachella three months to psych up viewers for the actual festival's 7th year run on April 29th and 30th at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Though Depeche Mode let slip they would be co-headlining Coachella on a recent KROQ radio interview, no other bands have been confirmed for the 2006 line-up. Fortunately, Coachella's documentary line-up has been set in celluloid and there'll be no last minute cancellations (sorry Cocteau Twins fans).

Full list of performances in the Coachella documentary is as follows:
The Arcade Fire
Belle And Sebastian
Bjork
Bright Eyes
