early bird
Tuesday, 12 September 2006
the only thing worse than a band going on stage 4 hours after the advertised start time of a concert (especially on a school night) is a band taking the stage early.  we missed 1/2 of the black crowes set on sunday because they started early.  so not cool.

thanks to robin i got to go see the black crowes and tom petty for free tonight. the crowes sounded remarkably good considering theyve lost 2 members in the last month or so.  tom and the band played almost 2 hours and they rocked. good times!

liberated?
Thursday, 07 September 2006

im not sure if i should be worried about myself or not.  since ive been back in fayetteville, ive only "gotten ready" like 3 or 4 times.  most days i know im going to be going to the gym or out for a walk in the crazy heat/humidity at some point, and im not really going anywhere or going to see anyone, so why bother? i shower everyday after the walk/gym...sometimes even twice a day, so im like, you know, clean...but with this constant ponytail/naked face thing, i barely recognize myself.  i better be careful, this could be a slippery slope. its also kind of liberating to not have to factor in an hour of prep every time i leave the house.

chris and i were going to travel to charlotte next week to see the damnwells, but i think the plan has changed.  instead of charlotte its charleston(sc) and instead of the damnewlls its gomez.  we saw the damnwells earlier this year, and i dont love the new album.  ive never seen gomez and have heard their live shows are stellar.

reminder - sunday is grandparents day.

aut's bachelorette party is saturday.  i really really hate that i dont get to be there.

i always keep my eye open for him when im in the grocery store hoping to score ....a fancy gourmet meal that is (he is pretty hot though, isnt he), but until then, ive got to rely on my less than stellar cooking skills.

my new favorite is pita bread pizza.

slap some spaghetti sauce on the pita, top it with tons of veggies: green peppers, red peppers, onions(i cheat and buy them pre-sliced), tomato, yellow peppers, a sprinkle of garlic, a little mozzarella cheese.....

throw it in the toaster oven and its the best thing ever with little to no effort...which is exactly the amount of effort im willing to put into cooking.

i use wheat pita, and don't go overboard with the cheese, so i feel like its maybe even kinda good for me, and probably under 300 calories.  to save even more calories, sometimes ill split the pitas in half and have an even thinner crust.

time for some pita bread pizza and prison break.  cant think of a yummier combo!

candy, candy, candy I cant let you go

so i just started taking a basic html class online thru web tech university

ive got this time on my hands and i figure i should be doing something constructive.  can't hurt for the resume either.

since my current website is about 8 zillion times better than i could ever dream of (thanks chris boylan!), my initial goal is to build a website for the place where i had my first real job, z's penny candy store, in good 'ol eastpointe, mi. i worked there all thru high school and the summer btwn freshman and sophomore year of college, and even went back and helped out in the afternoons for about 6 months after college when i was working for rocky in the mornings. autumn worked there for forever too, and it will always be one of my favorite places on this planet. the owner and manager are like family to us, and i hope i learn enough so that i can put together something basic that doesn't look like total crap. if you feel so inspired, you can track my progress on the project at zspennycandy.com. its nothing yet, im just messing around with ideas,  but i hope at some point it will be something i can be proud of and is worthy of the complete awesomeness that is z's.
