so this trip home was WAY too short. i managed to pack a whole lot into my little amount of time tho. christmas, my first trip to ford field (and the chips actually won the motor city bowl!!!), looking at houses with my sis and bro, 2 visits with grandma, lunch with my super-duper cool cousin cayce, pedicures with aut and darlene, my first rollerskating adventure in about 15 years, lunch with some old co-workers (in mexicantown!!!!), and laughing till i nearly wet myself and threw up at the same time watching jackass number 2 with my dad. three words: old man balls.
plus, mother nature has been tres kind this week in the d.
im actually sorta afraid to leave my house for the next couple days for fear of run-ins with crazed last minute shoppers (and crazed last minute shoppers driving like crazed last minute shoppers on the roads). plus, theres the overwhelming sense of guilt i feel when i walk by one of those salvation army bellringer types and dont drop anything into their little red buckets, even tho i have already given on a number of occasions earlier in the month. (bellringer just reminded me of those tasty red drinks at the wayside....no wonder i got fat freshman year, those things were huge and packed full of sugar) plus its pouring rain outside. maybe im just looking for a reason to justify not going to the gym. i guess if im staying in i could get a head start on packing at least. or i could sit on the couch watching seinfeld reruns all day (happy festivus tomorrow, btw). gotta soak up these last couple weeks of unemployment joy while they last. pretty soon it's gonna be "miss miller, can i go to the bathroom" and "miss miller, i dont wanna sit in my desk and behave when instead i can make your life a living hell."
this video was taken from a recent performance rob gave at the offices of filter magazine. he did 7 songs and they can all be found here. i barely recognized this one when it first started. its nice to see he's working some other songs into the mix.
