ive been listening to the national's new album on aol music and it is unbelievably good. dark. mysterious. and the vocals are incredible.  it comes out tomorrow.  i must have it.

not so very impressed with the new bravery.  its yawn-inducing on first listen.  maybe itll grow on me.

Vancouver Joel  - a rematch for Boxer   |24.86.204.xxx |2007-05-23 04:23:11
I love the old double albums of the 70s. Completely impractical in this day n'
age, but whatever. Actually, they've kind of resurfaced via playlists if you
want: Build Your Own Double Album. Which brings me to The National's latest
album... Boxer.

Let's say for the sake of argument that I've been doing
nothing but listening to Boxer since it came out today (!). Now I'm a HUGE fan
of The National, and I like Boxer, but I'm not sure about its track order. It
also seems to be needing a couple of additinoal songs. That's just my
take.

Now if you buy Boxer off of iTunes you get two bonus tracks that didn't
make the album. They should've been on there, I think. If so, and if you change
the track order a bit, you get a pretty solid double album:

Boxer - Round
1

1. Fake Empire
2. Start A War
3. Mistaken For Strangers
4. Ada
5. Slow
Show
6. Gospel
7. Apartment Story

Boxer - Round 2

1. Green Gloves
2.
