got this in the email today:
Michael & Guests sing for Gulf Coast relief.
We're excited to announce that Michael has recorded Joseph Arthur's song, In the Sun, for Gulf Coast relief. Six different versions of the song have been complied as an EP and will be made available as an iTunes exclusive on February 5th (this Sunday) at 11pm ET. The EP features guest appearances from some of Michael's friends including James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), Chris Martin (Coldplay), and Joseph Arthur, and includes a special mix by Justin Timberlake and Will.I.Am (Black Eyed Peas). All proceeds from the song will aid Mercy Corps in their continuing efforts to respond to needs along the Gulf Coast.
Go to the In the Sun Foundation for more information (including a statement from Michael) about this project. To find out more about Mercy Corps, please visit their website at www.mercycorps.org. Don't forget to head on over to REMHQ.com for a full-tracklisting of the In the Sun EP.
Also, be sure to check out ABC's Grey's Anatomy this Sunday, February 5th. In the Sun will be part of the episode's soundtrack! Click here for more information about the show.
All of us here at REMHQ applaud Michael for his efforts in this regard and all of the musicians and others who have worked hard to bring this to fruition. By the way, the song is gorgeous...we think you'll like it!
Again, you can purchase the EP from iTunes beginning February 5, at 11PM EST.
