back from trip part 1. unpacked, just in time to repack tuesday for trip 2. i dont especially like living out of a suitcase...but i do especially like spending time in real cities. we didnt spend a whole lotta time in baltimore cuz we stopped at the awesomest mall ever in tysons corner in mcclean, va.... spent way too much money at urban outfitters but got some good deals....and discovered the joys of h&m...the concert was good...the sound was a little off but the damnwells delivered, as I expected. we called it a night after the concert...didnt want to do too much walking around in baltimore at night, it was a little shady.

chris was dying for crab cakes, so we had lunch in baltimore early saturday and then did the hour drive to d.c. our hotel was like 3 blocks from the white house. i took an hour nap and chris walked around and looked at monuments...i met up with him at the washington monument, we walked all around the mall, stopped in the smithsonian air and space museum, then to the capitol, then found a tex mex place for dinner where lots of people were wearing pistons jerseys cuz the mci center was right down the street and they were in town playing the wizards. we walked and walked and walked...went out for some dessert and were in bed by 10:30. all that walking wears you out. checked out georgetown today...its a gourgeous neighborhood. i get all kinds of 'why the hell don't i live somewhere like here' feelings when im in a 'real' city. then i remember how expensive it is and that pretty much answers my question. post georgetown we hopped in the car and drove the 5ish hours back home. i think im probably gonna cry when i get my next credit card bill, but it was totally worth it.
pictures to come.
looking forward to trent tuesday.
